Hello Everyone, Welcome to a new Top-10 List. Today’s list is double the treat. Since today’s list will be about games based on anime series.
Gaming and Anime in most cases walk side by side. Every successful anime is bound to at least receive a movie or a game based on some of the anime events. In some cases, the game actually introduces a new mix of characters, not related to the anime to get players hooked even more to its unique story and events.
YU-GI-OH! LEGACY OF THE DUELIST LINK EVOLUTION (Nintendo Switch)
Yu-Gi-Oh is a worldwide popular battle monsters card game, so popular you at least heard that name once in your life. Yu-Gi-Oh had many successful series throughout its history, The game and anime as well have so many fans backing it up.
Konami, the company responsible for the game saw that the next logical step is to make games for the popular series, and does it have a lot of games. I got to tell you, you probably can find a Yu-Gi-Oh game for every console that might come to your mind like seriously they have dozens of them. However, the most game that stands out and I decided to talk about is link evolution.
What makes this game so special is it’s system itself like every Yu-Gi-Oh game you have to open boosters and build a deck from those cards but what makes Link Evolution so unique is that it covers the story of all Yu-Gi-Oh series starting from the original up until Link V-Rains giving the players a chance to play using the iconic duelists’ decks or using their own customized ones.
And if you complete all the story chapters there is an online mode to duel other players and keep having fun with the decks you love, and a thing worthy of note is that the game has an updated Banned/Limited cards list and HAS NO MICRO-TRANSACTIONAL system WHATSOEVER you can buy everything and anything with the game currency you earn from duels.
FATE GRAND-ORDER (Mobile)
Fate/Grand Order for short is a game any fate series fan is probably familiar with. People always complicate the fate series as if it was the rocket science of anime. Fate isn’t as complicated as others make it appear it just has too many timelines and stories tied to its verse and one of those stories is the Fate Grand-Order story.
Grand-Order main story is about a Master (You) and a Pseudo Servant named Mash Kyrie light embarking on a journey to save humanity from a cataclysmic event that ended the human race called simply “ Incineration of Humanity ”. Simple enough no? Oh, You lost me there? Ok Let me explain some more, the incineration of humanity has a source that it can be traced back to and stopped before it happens. Chaldea the organization you’re working with can Ray shift you (like time travel) to singularities in human history and end the source collecting the holy grail in the process. It’s a beautiful captivating story with lots of events and twists.
Rescuing humanity however will be easy with 100’s of servants composed different classes and rarities at your disposal, with a somehow unforgiving Gacha System XD (it’s called Gacha hell for a reason). However all servants, whatever the level or rarity have their uses and that’s the best part about the game. Fate/Grand Order was very successful that one of it’s singularities and my personal favorite got an anime series adaptation by the name of “ Fate Grand-Order Babylonia Absolute Demonic Front ” So go watch it since it will serve as an example of what to expect from Fate/Grand Order.
The company didn’t stop at a series however as there is now a New 2-Part Movie also in the making and it’s story is yet about another of Fate/Grand Order singularities the Lore Famous kingdom of Camelot and it’s knights of the round table. Too much information to take in right? I’ll simplify it even more, if you like the fate series or want to try and delve into it Fate/Grand Order is a good way to get introduced to it.
DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT (PS4 / PC)
Given the namesake of the show and it’s beloved numbskull Sayain character, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is the RPG all the fans of the franchise and games ever wanted and dreamt of. After the failure we call Dragon Ball Sagas fans were skeptical whether this game would meet the same failure or succeed were others failed.
However, Kakarot serves as a great example of someone learning from his own mistakes as it solved and perfected all the problems Sagas’ had. Fighting the iconic villains of Goku couldn’t be more enjoyable and entertaining, mixed in a dynamic story that pays respect to the original series and follows in its footsteps adding it’s unique twist.
And if you’re not in the mood for fighting you can always just chill by some river and enjoy a bit of relax time fishing, You can even glide and roam the dragon ball world and collect orbs all around it which starts to become addicting at one point if you ask me. In short, this game is the ultimate way to relive the super sayain adventures of Goku and the Z fighters.
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: ULTIMATE NINJA STORM 4 ROAD TO BORUTO (PS4/PC)
Though it is called Naruto Ninja Storm 4 it is the 6th in its line of series and the last one as well. But boy did this game go out with a bang. This game takes the concept of telling a story to whole new level including in it the complete story of Naruto Shippuden since the very beginning up to the last and final chapter of the Great Ninja War.
Ninja Storm 4 brought back with it the Concept of Ultimate Jutsu and Awakenings Battle Mechanic. However it added to the games another fun factor, which is the ability to switch between characters mid-battle making the possibilities of crazy insane combos even crazier. Especially if said team shared a certain bond with one another, one of those examples is the iconic Ino-Shika-Cho formation technique. The game wrapped up all the main story of the anime and even added a DLC of Boruto’s first adventure with its new and old but grown-up characters we all love.
DIGIMON STORY CYBER-SLEUTH: COMPLETE EDITION (PS4 / Switch)
When it came to making a great Digimon RPG gaming companies couldn’t quite capture the essence of the Digital Monsters raising game. They had some bad games and some good ones like Digimon world 3 (my personal favorite) with its captivating world and independent story it was a fun game that captured the nature of the digital monsters in an unprecedented way but if any of you reading this played it before then you definitely know that BACK-TRACKING and playing without a FAQ or Guide next to you was almost impossible.
Enter Digimon story cyber-sleuth the game all digital monsters fans dreamt of, Prayed for, and waited years for. The raising, capture, evolving, and battle system were exactly made the way you would expect a Digimon game to be starting with a farm system to raise your Digimon in and train them.

Development studio ” P-Studio ” released the best Persona entry to date back in 2017. The JRPG’s incredible soundtrack, Charming cast of characters known as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, and overwhelming offering of meaningful gameplay made it a hit amongst fans of the genre. In 2020, Persona 5 Royal arrived and added even more worthwhile content to a game jam-packed with it already. Mobile Suit Gundam aficionados finally have their dream fighting game in the form of this arcade to PS4 port. A grand total of 183 fan-favorite Mobile Suit Units are at your disposal in this hyperactive arena fighter. The battle mechanics at the heart of this mech brawler feel like a natural evolution of SEGA’s Virtual-On games, Plus it’s wealth of single and multiplayer content makes it much more valuable than your average anime arena fighter.

FAIRY TAIL : (PS4 / Switch / PC)
Koei Tecmo decided to do something different when it came time to produce a video game for Fiore’s most heralded guild. Instead of throwing Natsu and gang into a Musou-Inspired beat ‘em up, They handed the reins over to RPG developer Gust Co. Ltd. Thanks to its fine work on the Atelier franchise, Gust was able to produce a surprisingly good turn-based RPG based on the three most epic arcs within the Fairy Tail Saga.
This final pick on our list is jam-packed with worthwhile content – There’s a satisfying number of characters to bring into your stable, a unique battle system, catchy music, and side missions galore. Even during the closing hours of this game’s vast journey, There’s still so much to do and battle with the Fairy Tail guild.
